    Doris McCarthy was an important Canadian artist and educator emerging on the Canadian art scene in the 1920s and remaining active until her death in 2010. She taught in the Art Department at Central Technical School and mentored many distinguished artists, designers and illustrators. Her landscape work reveals an adventurous spirit as she traveled throughout Canada and flirted with many of the major art developments throughout the twentieth century.
