    Changes in Physical Training

In 1919, health education advocates across Canada were recommending the inclusion of hygiene, physiology, and recreational exercises along with the physical training prescribed by the Strathcona Trust program. Pressure was put on the trustees of the Strathcona Fund to keep up with recent developments in the field. As a result, the Strathcona Trust was amended to allow the provinces to use their funds, at their own discretion, to encourage physical education among students.
