    George Reid, Muralist

An accomplished Canadian artist with a strong commitment to public art and education, George Reid was commissioned to complete a commemorative mural chronicling the Canadian epic themes of Exploration, Settlement, Patriotism and Sacrifice, in recognition of Jarvis’ deceased war heroes. As an enthusiastic muralist and founder of Toronto’s Society of Mural Decorators, Reid believed mural painting to be “stimulation to achievement to commemorate noble ideals because it is the pursuit of the ideal which makes life truly worth living”.
