    A Painful Loss

Long-serving Board of Education Trustee (Ward 3) and Former Chair C.A.B. Brown was killed in Toronto’s first hit and run accident. Brown’s death came at a time that the Toronto Board of Education was dealing with new difficulties and developments for education as society recovered from the war and ideas delayed were moved forward again. The ongoing radical reform of Ryerson’s day continued as trustees struggled to keep engaged students in school.
